2026 Harvest Fest

October 24th is the big day! The fun will begin at 10:30 AM with the Village’s America 250 Red, White & Blue Parade starting at the WWSD South Campus Elementary School located at 147 Farragut Road. It will circulate through the Village and end at the Greenhills Commons where Harvest Fest will be getting underway. Harvest Fest will be full of booths, food, beer, music and fun activities through 8 PM. Returning this year will be the Kids Costume Parade leading into Trunk or Treat. watch for more details as the celebration unfolds.

Applications are now open for local small businesses, artists, crafters, game booth operators, and vendors offering seasonal items. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with the Greenhills community during one of the year’s most anticipated events.

Vendors receive:

A designated 10’x10′ space on the Commons
One electric hookup per booth
Direct engagement with community members and families

Vendors are responsible for supplying their own canopy, tables, chairs, display stands, overhead lighting, and staffing. All extension cords must be three-pronged and all plug strips must include a circuit breaker. Booths must be set up and open by 12:00 PM and must remain open through the end of the festival.

To submit an application please follow this link. All applications must be received by Friday, October 12, 2026. The Village of Greenhills reviews submissions and reserves the right to determine the best vendor mix.

Tree Program Updates

TREE PROGRAM UPDATE #4

What has been going on with the tree program in Greenhills?

Tree pruning and some removals continue throughout the Village.
Comprehensive work in the “H” block begins NEXT WEEK.
Our Arborist has completed the annual assessment of all trees in the Village, and identified a number of trees for removal or pruning that we will be following up on in the next few months.
A more intense assessment of the trees in the B-block is underway and may take a few weeks to complete.
The entire route of the Red, White & Blue Parade has been clear-pruned.

What is clear-pruning? It is when lower limbs are removed to a height

of 8 feet on sidewalks and 14 feet on the streets to allow pedestrians and vehicles, respectively, to be able to walk and drive without hitting a tree limb.

Streets marked in yellow are currently being worked on; streets highlighted in green have or are being done; streets highlighted in purple are being assessed now and will be worked on later this year; and the streets in blue remain to be done and will be within the next 2 months.

Historic District Guidelines are in Effect

Historic District Guidelines

Historic design guidelines are in effect within the Greenhills local historic district.

Please Click here to see the Village map to determine if your property is within the Historic District Boundaries.

If you are within the District, prior to starting any work on your house or property, an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness must be completed and submitted to the Village. This includes painting, door or window replacements, any exterior repairs or replacements, and more! The guidelines are available below.

Within the District Boundaries:

* Only exterior alterations are subject to review.

* The main concern is what is visible from a public right-of-way.

* Regular maintenance items such as in-kind repairs do not require review.

* Paint colors are reviewed if a change in color is proposed.

* Existing conditions may stay. Restoration to original conditions is not required. However, if an existing element does not conform to the guidelines, it may remain or be repaired. If it is removed, that element should be reviewed as a new application and restoration to the original appearance should have priority.

Coyotes on the Prowl

There have been numerous coyote sightings around the Village lately.

The best thing you can do to make your location less desirable for coyotes is eliminate any food sources. This would include your garbage – keep tight fitting lids on your cans. Keep your small pets inside unless you can accompany them and/or have them on a leash.

If you see a coyote while out with your pet, pick the pet up immediately. Avoid feeding pets or wildlife outside your house. The animals you are attracting become easy prey for the coyotes.

To scare a coyote away experts recommend screaming, yelling, blowing a whistle or a horn.
